Chathive integrates directly into your mailbox, allowing you to use the AI assistant to answer emails faster, summarize long threads, and look up fiscal information without leaving your inbox.

How to install the plugin
To begin the installation, navigate to the Get started section in the Chathive app and follow the Microsoft installation prompts.

The process: You may need to click "Get it now" or similar confirmation buttons several times. Microsoft’s installation flow can involve multiple steps.

Admin access: If you see a message stating that "Administrator approval is required," your IT department must enable the add-in for your organization.

What to do: Send the technical guide (found below the video) to your internal or external IT manager.

Important: Before your IT provider follows those steps, please email us at support@bothive.be with their contact details. We need to grant them access to the platform first.

Activation & visibility

Outlook Online: The Chathive icon should appear almost immediately after installation.

Outlook Desktop (Offline): You will likely need to restart Outlook. Note that it can sometimes take a few hours for the plugin to sync and appear in the desktop application.
Key features in your mailbox
Once installed, click the Chathive icon within any email to open the assistant sidebar.
1. Smart summaries and replies
The assistant automatically analyzes the context of the selected email.

Drafting: Click "Reply" to let the AI write a response using its full fiscal knowledge base.

Customization: Instead of letting the AI "guess," you can give specific instructions like: "Write a reply including points X, Y, and Z."
2. Send and copy

Copy response: Copy the AI's text to manually paste it into your reply.

Send: This button automatically opens a new reply window with the AI-generated text ready for you to review, edit, and send.
3. Save to knowledge base
If you and the AI have crafted a perfect answer, click Save question.

By saving the question and answer, Chathive learns your preferred way of responding.

The next time you (or a colleague) receive a similar question, the assistant will generate a consistent answer based on this saved data.
Troubleshooting
