Step 2: Setting up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Tired of waiting for login codes in your email? Depending on your mail server settings, email codes can sometimes arrive with a delay. To ensure faster and more secure access, we recommend setting up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) using an authenticator app.

Once configured, you can generate your login code instantly on your smartphone using apps like Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator.

How to enable 2FA

Follow these steps to link your account to an authenticator app:

  1. Open your profile: Once logged into Chathive, click on the profile icon in the top right corner of the screen.

  2. Go to settings: Select my profile from the dropdown menu.

  3. Find authentication settings: In the profile menu, you will see that "Email Authentication" is enabled by default. Look for the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) section.

  4. Scan the QR Code: A unique QR code will appear on your screen. Open your preferred authenticator app (Google, Microsoft, etc.) on your phone and select "Scan a QR code."

  5. Verify the connection: After scanning, your app will display a 6-digit code. Enter this code into the verification field in Chathive to confirm the setup.

  6. Done! Your account is now linked.
