Step 5: Generating documents

One of the most powerful features of Chathive is the ability to generate professional documents automatically using our Code interpreter. This tool writes and executes programming code in the background to transform data into high-quality files.

How to generate a document

You can turn any chat conversation into a document by simply asking for it. For example, after receiving a fiscal answer, you can give a follow-up command:

  • Be specific about the format: Always mention the file type you need. While you can request various formats, PDF is usually the best choice for a professional look.

  • Define the audience: You can ask the assistant to adjust the tone.

    • Example: "Create a PDF one-pager based on this information, written for an entrepreneur. Keep it simple and avoid using too much technical fiscal jargon."

How it works

  1. Reasoning: The assistant will outline guidelines for how it will structure the document.

  2. Coding: It writes a custom script to generate your file (you may see technical terms like "functions"—you can safely ignore these).

  3. Execution: The system runs the code. Because it is building a file from scratch, this may take a few moments.

  4. Download link: Once finished, a download link (e.g., infofiche_entrepreneur.pdf) will appear in the chat. Click it to view your document.

Refining your results

The first version of a document doesn't have to be the final version. You can continue the conversation to fine-tune the output:

  • Adjust content: "Can you make the introduction shorter?"

  • Personalize: "Please include our office name and add a placeholder for our logo at the top."

  • Iterate: Don't worry if the first draft isn't perfect. Simply tell the assistant what to change, and it will generate a new, updated version for you.

Efficiency tip

While the Code interpreter is generating your document, you can start a New chat to work on something else or check your Chat history. You can always return to the original conversation once the file is ready.
